Effective 28 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Curi (“Curi,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use curi.one and related services, including our website, lesson emails, and account features. Questions: hello@curi.one.

Who we are

Curi is a daily micro-learning product. We help you explore topics through short lessons, quizzes, field notes, and optional email. We process personal data as the controller of that information for the services we operate.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Curi, we may collect:

  • Account data: email address, display name, and sign-in details (including magic-link / one-time codes).
  • Learning profile: topics and tracks you start, depth preferences, lesson progress, quiz answers, lesson-feel feedback, and optional “about you” fields you choose to share.
  • Notes and content you create: field notes, decks, and similar material you save in the product.
  • Billing data: plan, subscription status, and payment metadata from Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe processes payments.
  • Email preferences: whether daily lesson or lifecycle emails are enabled, and related delivery events.
  • Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, cookies or similar identifiers needed for session and security, and basic usage logs.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, personalise, and improve lessons and tracks.
  • Generate and enrich lesson content with AI providers (see below).
  • Send transactional and, if you opt in, daily lesson emails.
  • Process subscriptions and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Maintain security, debug issues, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use lesson content you write in field notes to train third-party foundation models for unrelated products.

AI-generated lessons

Lessons may be generated or enriched using third-party AI services (for example, research and citation helpers). Prompts may include your topic, clarify answers, depth band, and high-level learning preferences so the lesson fits you. Providers process that input to return content to us under their terms. Avoid putting sensitive personal data into free-text clarify answers if you do not want it processed for generation.

Email

If you enable daily lesson emails, we send lesson previews and related notices to your account email. You can change preferences in your profile or unsubscribe via links in those emails. Transactional mail (sign-in codes, billing receipts, security notices) may still be sent when needed to operate your account.

Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure providers: hosting, database, auth, and email delivery needed to run Curi.
  • Stripe: for paid plans and invoices.
  • AI / research providers: solely to generate or enrich lessons as described above.
  • Professional advisers or authorities: when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

If we transfer the business, your data may move with it under continued protection consistent with this policy.

Retention

We keep account and learning data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You can delete your account anytime from Profile → Account (we cancel paid subscriptions immediately). Some billing records may be retained as required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, access controls, least-privilege service keys) to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique email account and tell us promptly at hello@curi.one if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can delete your account in Profile → Account, or contact hello@curi.oneand we will respond within a reasonable time. You can also update profile fields and email preferences in the product.

Children

Curi is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted by email or in-product notice when appropriate.
